I was reminded today of the importance and joy of going through life together. The picture above is of our current small group. In the past 5 months we have had 3 babies join our group. We take seriously the command "Be fruitful and multiply." Anyway, it's been so fun to be able to see each newborn in the hospital ... Beniah in April, then our Judah in June, and today I was able to meet baby Adelyn for the first time.
One of the joys of being in a small group is simply getting to experience life together. Some of the things our group has experienced have been pretty difficult. It's in those difficult times it's more important to simply be in the picture than it is to have all the answers. Some struggles just do not have easy answers, if any answers at all. Our presence is often more important than our answers.
Others things, like today, have been filled with joy! And, again, it's important to be in the picture, celebrating those high times as well. Romans 12:15 says "Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep." Today I'm thankful for those in my life who have laughed and cried with me and am thrilled to have the opportunity to do the same. Be there for someone today.
