I'm a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. They are a team rich with history and full of stories. Growing up in Western PA, cheering for the Steelers is just a way of life. It's part of the hard-nosed, blue-collar culture that makes Western PA what it is. In a part of the country that has seen its share of struggles and hard times, the Steelers have always provided an escape ... a chance to lay aside the realities of life for 3 1/2 hours on a Sunday afternoon and lose yourself in a game.
The picture above shows just how fanatic Steeler fans are. A hospital in Pittsburgh wrapped all the new borns in Terrible Towels. You can read about it here. Much better than wrapping newborns in cheese, which is probably what they're doing in Green Bay right now.
There's also an incredibly rich history behind the Terrible Towel including the fact that since 1996, all of the proceeds from the Terrible Towel ... yes ... ALL of them, go to help a Pittsburgh School that specializes in helping student with mental handicaps. It really is a great story and you can read about it here.
